The new building on Project Dove was constructed by John Sisk but this work was construction of the main shell. Since then many alterations have taken place many of which were undertaken by R L Harrison Construction limited.
We altered openings and installed 60 minute fire rated lintels within building to enable pipe runs and services to run through the building together with installing fireproofing work around openings.
We also undertook hundreds of concrete plinth bases for specialist equipment to sit on each with its own specific design.
Once the building work for the equipment was completed the FD Engineering offices needed completing.
R L Harrison Construction Limited tendered for this work. Due to constraints on the budget at the time R L Harrison Construction Limited undertook a value engineering exercise to achieve a similar standard specified originally but at a reduced cost. This meant changing suspended ceilings, floor coverings, doors and partitions were deleted, finishes to a slightly more cost effective quality finish but to still maintain the integrity of the structure and building to meet current Building Regulations standards.
The rear fire escape staircase was painted over fair faced block work rather than plastered.
Photos show the fit out work.
